geen tiermelk saam met cowboys & crooks!
Neil
Brooks, die Vader van Nicole en Aaron het vreedsaam saam met sy vrou
gewoon in die woonbuurt Bothasig, in die Kaapse Skiereiland. Oom Neil

thou shalt not stifle litigation
We
have all heard the stories; the anecdotes lawyers regale their friends
with at dinners of the weird characters that seem to revel in the drama
of litigation: the vexatious litigant.
While most people try to avoid becoming embroiled in legal proceedings, there are some that seemingly cannot get through the day without their fix of issuing summons or launching some application. And no, this does not only happen in America or on television – even boutique firms in Cape Town get the odd enquiry from a person that wants to sue the Minister of Justice (and everybody else) for a R100 million because, ever since his father apparently shot him ten years ago on their front lawn to impress random girls walking by, everybody has conspired against him and caused him to lose his marbles. “Everybody” will inevitably also include the attorney who shall, after listening politely to his ramblings for an hour, decline the offer to represent him.

partner blames baby for his bad temper
A partner at a leading Aussie firm has emailed his colleagues to explain that if he loses his rag with them it's just because of his newborn baby. Even if they do "hand over the same piece of shit work for the third time without correction".
“

Subject: Sleep
As you know, I have a newborn and a toddler at home. I expect that there will be a certain shortage of sleep in the [ ] household over the next couple of months.
[A colleague] will have told you all (probably a couple of times) that I am grumpy when I have not had enough sleep. Of course, this is untrue (some would say lack of sleep has nothing to add to my grumpiness), but for the purposes of this email I am assuming that he is right.
So if I snap at you, please consider that I may be suffering from overtiredness. It will not be because you have just interrupted me midthought, or that you have handed me the same piece of shit work for the third time without correction, or that you have put a particularly dreaded client through on the phone without warning me - it will all be the fault of my baby.
So please accept my apologies in advance for any emotional suffering that I may cause.
